A Little History About Our School
Finstall First School is situated in Aston Fields on the outskirts of Bromsgrove, a small market town in the north east of Worcestershire. We admit girls and boys from 4 to 9 years old after which they transfer to the Middle School. We have just over 300 children on roll with five year groups accommodated in ten parallel classes, with two classes in each year group. | |
Our school was opened in January 1992 and was built to replace our old victorian building in Stoke Road which had served the Aston fields area since 1882. Finstall School was originally an all-age school but over the years it has seen many changes and been through many phases ending up as a First School in the early seventies when a three tier system of education was introduced in the Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch areas.
Our new school, which won the Bromsgrove Society Award in 1992, is a spacious, light and airy building with a large reception and library area, a large hall which doubles as a well-equipped gymnasium and dining hall, with wide corridors leading to bright colourful classrooms and two practical areas in two separate wings.
The site includes a hard playground, an adventure playground, a large playing field, a conservation area as well as attractive gardens at the front of the school.

The west wing houses our Key Stage 1 classes in the 'Lower School' and the east wing houses our Key Stage 2 classes in the 'Upper School'.
